Details about Ono Shokan is unknown. According to Bugei Ryuha Daijiten (published in 1916) Shibata Emori learned Kurama Ryu from Kaneko Sukesaburo who was Bakushin. Shibata received Kaiden when he was 18 and he also learned Onoha Itto Ryu. He opened Kurama Ryu dojo Shuseikan in Yotsuya, Tokyo. The dojo still exist.
