Hasegawa Settan was an Edo period machi eshi (town painter) who later became a goyô eshi (court painter) to the Ogasawara clan lords of Karatsu han.
He also prepared illustrations for woodblock-printed illustrated books such as the 1834-1836 Edo meisho zue (Illustrations of Famous Sites in Edo).[1]
