Kurinomoto Gyokusetsu was a Buddhist monk and haikai poet from Kumamoto han.
After serving in temples in Awaji and Harima provinces, and in Kakogawa, he became formally affiliated with the Nijô family as a master poet, and traveled the realm erecting monuments to Matsuo Bashô. In 1800, he published an account of his travels entitled Azuma gahi.
