*''Japanese'': [[肥前]] 忠吉 ''(Hizen Tadayoshi)''

Hizen Tadayoshi was the name taken in succession by a line of prominent [[Edo period]] swordsmiths.

Though formal samurai exchanges of swords as gifts typically took the form of older (pre-Edo) swords, when Edo period swords (''shin-tô'', lit. "new swords") were given, they were often blades made by Hizen Tadayoshi.
