''Ezo shi'' is a work by [[Arai Hakuseki]], describing the geography of [[Ezo]] (the areas to the north of Japan, including [[Hokkaido|Hokkaidô]], [[Sakhalin]], and the [[Kuril Islands]]) and the culture of the [[Ainu]] people. Completed in [[1720]], it was based on works by Chinese writers, and on official records from [[Matsumae han]].
