The Kodai-ji temple, located in Higashiyama ward, Kyoto city was founded by Kôdai-In, is part of the Rinzai school of Buddhism.
This temple is known as the grave site of Toyotomi Hideyoshi and his wife Nene (Kôdai-In).
The Chashitsu Kasa-tei and Shigure-tei were moved from Fushimi castle.
In 1867, the temple was used as the headquarters of the Goryô Eji.
