Kagemune was born in [[Kii province]] and came to serve the Hôjô of [[Sagami province]]. He had a background in naval affairs (possibly even piracy) and so he commanded warships, which he led against the [[Takeda clan|Takeda]] and [[Satomi clan|Satomi]] on various occasions. He accompanied [[Hojo Ujinao|Hôjô Ujinao]] into exile in [[1590]] but after Ujinao's death his fortunes are unknown.
