Moritomo was an important [[Takeda clan|Takeda]] retainer and the son-in-law of [[Yamagata Masakage]]. He fought at [[Battle of Mimasetoge|Mimasetoge]] ([[1569]]), [[Battle of Mikatagahara|Mikatagahara]] ([[1573]]), and was killed at [[Battle of Nagashino|Nagashino]] in 1575 in the same [[Oda clan|Oda]]/[[Tokugawa clan|Tokugawa]] raid that killed [[Takeda Nobuzane]].
