The Kyoto Shugo Shoku (Military Commissioner of Kyoto) was a post of the Edo Bakufu during the Bakumatsu period. The purpose was to maintain the public peace of Kyoto and to guard the Kyoto Gosho and Nijo castle. The headquaters was located at the Konkai Komyo-ji.
