The Kodai-ji temple located in Higashiyama ward, Kyoto city was founded by Kôdai-In. It is Rinzai school of Buddhism. This temple is known as the garve site of Toyotomi Hideyoshi and his wife Nene(Kôdai-In).
The Chashitsu Kasa-tei and Shigure-tei were moved from Fushimi castle.
In 1867, the temple was used as the Goryô Eji headquater.
