Toramori first served Takeda Nobutora, from whom he was granted the use of 'tora' in his name. He fought in many battles for Takeda Shingen under the leadership of Baba Nobufusa and was said to have been wounded no fewer then forty times over the course of his career, which came to an end when he died of illness in June 1561 at Kaizu castle. He was an Ashigaru Taisho with 15 cavalry and 75 ashigaru under his direct command.
