The Kôra family were a lineage of carpenters and craftsmen maintained as retainers (goyô shônin) by the Tokugawa shogunate, and known for overseeing the design and construction of Edo castle and Nikkô Tôshôgû Shrine.
Ôshima Mitsumoto (1842-1925) was the final head of the family. He was employed as a government official by the Meiji state and designed train stations and other official buildings until the 1890s.
