  • Japanese/Chinese: 高明 (Ba Koumei / Mǎ Gāomíng) or 馬幸明 (Ba Koumei / Mǎ Xìngmíng)

Ba Kômei was a Ryukyuan scholar-bureaucrat of peechin rank who commissioned the Japanese monk Taichû to compile the Ryûkyû Shintô ki and Ryûkyû ôrai.

Following Taichû's arrival in Ryûkyû in 1603 and inability to get to China, Ba helped arrange for Taichû to have a residence at Keirin-ji, a Buddhist temple near Shuri castle.
